Concluding his talk, Rotarian Mackie said : “I feel that one must' take off his hat to our Auckland friends for tho manner in which they conducted the Conference. Their’s was a great achievement, and we could do no better next year than emulate them.” ' • ' President B. J. Jacobs then enlightened'■members as to what would boi . expected of them next year when tho Conference was held in Palmerston North. Accommodation, he said,-was going to be a difficult matter, as there, would be about. 400 visitors, and it would have to be fully- gone Into at an early date. The total cost of the Conference would be in the vicinity of £6OO, but Palmerston North members would not have to find all that amount! About £4OO of this sum would come from registration fees, to ' which all Rotarians, i visitors • and otherwise, would contribute. The Palmerston Rotary Club had a big task ahead, and should start straight away on the job. There was no reason why they should not make as big \ a success of tho conference as Auckland had done. On behalf of the Club, the president thanked Rotarian Mackie for his address. V
