DIXON GDP CONTEST, Palmerston North were once more successful in retaining their title to the Dixon Cup and Tucker Badges on Saturday, defeating a rink from Shan, non by 24 —15. The rinks were as follows: — Palmerston North.—Kerslake, Tattersall, C. D. Fraser and N. H. Nash (skip) 24, v. Shannon: Butt, Spencer, Williams, Roach (skip), 15. An inter-club- match between Palmrston North and Shannon was also played on the Palmerston North green on Saturday, the home team proving victorious by ,23 —14. The rinks were:— Palmerston North. —Griggs, Crawford, Rudkin, Stephenson (skip) 22, v. Shannon; Aim,. Skerman, Jones, Murray (skip), .14-, ,\ .. Play at Northern, A return inter-club'match was played between Northern and.Oroua at the Northern green, five rinks participating. Northern came out victorious on the day’s play by 107—86. Mr. Li. R. Bryant, the Northern president, welcomed the visitors and expressed the opinion that inter-club visits were-preferable to'gala days, an opinion which -found favour with his listeners. Mr. Goodbehere, president of Oroua, returned thanks, for. the welcome to his members .and after cheers were given for each Club, play commenced.
