ENTERTAINING THE DUKE OF YORK
PRESBYTERY DEPLORES RACING (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. A motion deploring the proposal to entertain the Duke and Duchess of York by a motor excursion on Sunday and a race meeting at Rlccarton on another day. was defeated at this morning’s meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery, and an ■amendment adopted referring the question of the holding of . the race meeting, to the Council of Christian Congregations.
