CLAIM AGAINST WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL
STREET IMPROVEMENT AFFECT PROPERTY.
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, Last Night. A compensation claim is proceeding in the Supremo Court against the City Corporation, William Alfred Chote, merchant, claiming £9OO on the grounds that the cutting in Wallace street, to allow of the building of a tramway, had destroyed his frontage, leaving It twelve feet in the air. Vehicular access had been destroyed, and was not possible, and pedestrian access was by a flight of 23 steps. Tile case is proceeding.
