POLISH COMMUNIST’S ACTIVE
RIOTS OUTSIDE PRISON, [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Monday, 7 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 12. News from Vilna states that, following upon the permission granted to Messrs. Shepherd and Beckett, members of the House of Commons, to visit Polish prisons, large crowds led by Communist members of Diet rioted outside the Vilna prison. They attempted to force an entry, and attached police reserves. Frequent charges by mounted men restored order. Many arrests were made. Polish Government circles express the opinion that the local Communists are taking advantage of the visit of the Labour Members of the House of Commons to organise demonstrations.
