A congress of two hundred professional dancers strongly condemned the Charleston and decided it must bo toned down. It was declared that woman who danced tho Charleston might never bo able to become mothers and medical experts were quoted in support of this view. Doctor Variot, a well-known Paris specialist, also agreed that women should ho careful how they danced modern stops. It would bo bettor for future generations lit young girls avoided altogether dances with sudden violent movements.
