A WORKER’S THIRST
AND A LOTTERY TICKET lA worker’s thirst has netted the wWow of an innkeeper at Bad Xschal Austria, £3OOO first prize in an Austrian State lottery. The winning ticket was first bought by a working man, but he could not conjure up epough patience to await the fateful drawing of the lots. He decided that a glass of beer in the hand was worth an uncertain lottery prize in the bush. Accordingly ho ordered a stein of Pilsener, and paid his bill With his lottery ticket. When the lots were drawn the innkeeper's widow was officially advised that she had won £3OOO. In order to console the man for his loss the widow invited him to drown his sorrow in beer for a whole evening al her expense.
