UNUSUAL FORGERY CASE
COURT INFLICTS £SO FINE. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON. Last Night. Leslie Johnson, convicted of forgery and one charge of false pretences, was fined £SO at the Supreme Court to-day. It was explained that no one had suffered loss as the result of what Johnson had done. He had made restitution of the money before hearing of the charge. His Honour said that some disciplinary punishment would have to ho give. Prisoner would be fined £SO. It the fine was not paid, he would bo imprisoned for not more than 3 months. Time was allowed in which to pay the money. Probationary conditions for two years were imposed.
