Tlio small wooden ketch Kiatea was stranded on a reef olf Brown’s Island in the Hauraki Gulf on Sunday night when en route from Coromandel to Auckland with a cargo of shingle. Representatives of the owners visited the vessel and reported that she was not extensively damaged. The cargo was being jettisoned and the Harbour Board firefloat has been engaged to pump out the water. It is hoped to tow her to Auckland. The Kiatea, , which is a vessel of twenty tons, and I ( carrying a crew of three, has had an !; unlucky career, being badly damaged , in November, 1924, through an ex- i plosion of benzine.
