POPE’S NIECE MARRIED

In the presence of the diplomatic body accredited to the Vatican the Pope personally solemnised the marriage of his niece, Marie Ratti, with the Marquis Edoardo Ugolini. During his address the Pope emphasised the sanctity of the marriage vows. He warned the couple against the temptations of the world, specially deprecating immodest dross.
The bride wore a full length skirt and sleeves and a high neck dress. The Pope's gift was two silver caskets with a ring of jewels and a string of pearls.
