PAHIATUA STOCK FAIR
The. Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association Ltd., report, on their Pahiatua Spring Cattle Fair as follows;.—-
The, cattle came forward well up to advertised numSers, and included some outstanding lines of bullocks from Balfour Estate, A. D. Eglinton, A. Hoggard, D. O’Brien, S. Nillson, W. Duff M. Alpass. There were not many outside buyers present, buc all cattle sold went to outside districts, and all agreed that the condition of the older cattle was a credit to the district. The young cattle showed visibly signs of the hard tlmeo they had gone through. The value* for aged cattle were not ap to proceeding fairs, but brought good money. The young cattle were keenly competed for, and the bulk of the yarding was disposed of at auction and private treaty. The cattle were distributed over Wairarapa, Manawatu, Hawke’s Bay and Mangaweka. Prices are as follows: —•
On account of A. D. Eglinton, 26 bullocks at £9 11 s; on a/c S. Nillson 16 bullocks at £9; On a/e A. Hoggard 12 bullocks at £8 10s; On a/c M. Alpass 21 bullocks at £B. Other lines made £8 Bs, £8 6s, £8 2s 6d, £7 10s, £7 Is, £7, £8 15s, £6 12s Gd, £6 6s, £6 2s, £B. Two year steers £5 15s, £5 10s, £5 7s 6d. £5 ss. £5 4s, £5, £4 11s. Two year P.A. heifers; £4 Is and £4. Two year Hereford heifers: £3, £2 IDs. Yearling IP.A.. steers: £4 2s and £3 10s. Yearling Hereford steers: £3 and £2 13s, cows and calves, £5 10s, £2 9s; store cows, £4 11s, £3 10s, £3, £2 10s £2, £l. Fat cows £8 9s, £B, £6 15s.
