Northern greens were not fit to playon during the week-end, but rinks enjoyed games at other greens. Three rinks were entertained at the Palmerston North Club’s green, where friendly matches were played. Hr. T. R. Hodder on behalf of tho visitors thanked tho Palmerston North Club for Its hospitality. Results of the games were (Palmerston North mentioned first): Fitt, Pickering, Flint Collier (s.) 19, lost to Tcalc, Stewart, Young, Stallard (s.) 20. Howley, Sharman, Mackie, Fraser (s.) 15 lost to Thirtlc, Eliott Plodder, Arnott (s.) 22. Griggs, McGregor, Rowlands. Morris (s.) 31 defeated Kirk. Barham, Robinson, Stuart (8.) 9. Pahiatua intended holding its opening day on Saturday, but reports of heavy, continuous rain kept visiting rinks at homo. The Labour Day pairs tourney is still in progress. Bketahuna Club opens on Wednesday next. TERRACE END v. STANNON. Two rinks from tho Shannon Club .paid a visit to the Terrace Tilnd Club over the week-end. Of the four games played, the visitors were victorious in three. Results are as follows: Shannon: Blackwood, Franks. Shannon, Murray (s.) 22 v. Terrace End: Fletcher. O’Shea, McGregor, Duncalf (s.) 17. Shannon: Butt, Mason, Spencer, Gagliardi (s.) 26 v. Terraco End: Madden, O’Grady, Johnson and Moffatt (s.) 20. Shannon: Blackwood, Franks, Shannon. Murray (a.) 13 v. Terrace End; Madden, O’Grady, Johnson, Moffatt (s.) 22. Shannon: Butt. Mason, Gagliardi, Spencer (s.) 26 v. Terraco End: Fletcher, O’Shea, McGregor, Duncalf (s.) 11.
