Like the fusel oil in bad whisky so the nicotine in strong tobacco is injuiious to the health. It is an astonishing fact that the loaf produced in certain localities of tire Auckland and Nelson districts contains less nicotine than any other tobacco known. This is of the utmost importance with regard to the development of the New Zealand tobacco industry, because it is just these mild types of leaf that arc eagerly sought after by the manufacturers abroad and labulous prices are often paid for them. New Zealand indeed will become famous lor its unique tobacco, and the local product will be our national smoko. Unlike some of the foreign tobaccos, the New Zealand article does not bite the tongue, it smokos smooth and mellow and leaves the mouth sweet and clean. Moreover it is all pure tobacco with a distinctive flavour, obtainable in ; strengths. Cut lug No. 10 for those who appreciate a full body, and iaverhead Gold for the lover of a very mild aromatic, while Toasted Navy Cut, (Bulldog) represents the medium strength.
