PROFESSIONAL TENNIS
IMR. C. C. PYRE’S PROGRAMME. NEW YORK, Oct. 21. Mr C.C. Pyle announces that he has rearranged his professional lawn tennis programme for December or January. Tournaments will be open to all-comers, and the prizes will be £lO, 000, the winner of every match getting a prize. The winner of the singles will get a total of £2OOO. Immediately after, a tour of-Eng-land, the Continent, China, Japan and the Philippines will bo made, and the team will arrive in Australia in October or November of next year. In an interview, Mr Pyle said he hoped Australian stars would ebter the forthcoming tournaments. He did not offer to' sign up any of them professionally. He expected that his advance agent would leave for Australia in Juno. Mr Pyle returned from the West yesterday and says the tour was a success.
