PRESENTATION OF BADGES. 1 Scouts and cubs of the Te Awe Awe ! troop spent a jovial evening in the i Scout Hall, King street, last evening, . when a bright entertainment was [ staged in conjunction with a presen- , tation of badges ceremony. The chairman of the committee, Mr. N. D. Stubbs, presided, and after apologising for the absence of Mr. D. W. Low. Mr. and Mrs. C. Turnbull, and Mrs. Stubbs, congratulated the Scouts and cubs on the progress! they had made under Scoutmaster! Brown and Lady Cub-Master Elliott, j ; '■ He called upon Major. Sandle, Dis- • trict Commissioner, to present the badges won by the boys during the last six months, as follows; Second-class badges: Scouts Arthur Harvey, Ray Stubbs. Sam Hodge, lan Hamilton, May Hamilton: tenderfoot badge, Scout. Ray Olson. Thirty cubs also received badges. The total num- - ber of badges presented to the cubs was 72, these being for first aid, house; 1
orderlies, wood-workers, artist collectors and observers. ... Commissioner Sandle congratulated each Scout separately, and expressed tlie wish that the boys would continue to progress in their work.
