LORD BUCK MASTER EXPECTED.
IX AUCKLAND AT CHRISTMAS. Private information has been received that Lord Buckmaster is visiting New Zealand this summer? with a party of friends. He will be in Auckland at Christmas time. Stanley Owen Buckmaster, first Baron Buckmaster of Cheddington (1915), was bom in 3 SGI, and married in ISS9 Miss Edith Agusta Lewin, of Ware. There is one son of the marriage. Educated at Oxford Mr. Buckmaster was called to the Bar in ISB4 and was created a ICC. in 1902. As Sir Stanley Buckmaster he was Solicitor-General of England in 1913, and became Lord Chancellor in 1915, holding office till the resignation of the Coalition Ministry in 1916. He was formerly Liberal M.P. for Cambridge (1906-10) and for Keighley (1911-14). Lord Buckmaster introduced the Women Solicitors' Bill in March, 1918. During the war period lie was a, member of the Inter-Allied Conference on Finance and Supplies.
