COMPULSORY CREAM GRADING
REDISTRIBUTION Ol INSPECTORS. In anticipation, of cream gra ’ins becoming general, the Dairy Divis. has recognised the necessity of <■ ■ suring uniformity in the grading of cream as between the different dairy factories. Last season the districts between Wellington and New Plymouth, and including Hawke’s Bay and the northern portion of the South Island, had the services of two butter instructors. It has been decided that for the ensuing season this district will have the services of three such officers. Mr D. Hull, manager of the Cheltenham -Company, has been appointed as butter instructor, with headquarters at New Plymouth. In order that more assistance may be given to South Island dairy companies, it has been decided to ; transfer Mr H. J. Pctch, butter instructor at Hamilton, to Christchurch. His district will include Canterbury, north of Ashburton, and the West Coast. Mr E. G. Melton, dairy instructor and grader at New Plymouth, has been transferred to Hamilton to succeed Mr Fetch. Mr G. Purvis, manager of Mauricevillo Dairy Company, has just joined the Dairy Division as grader and instructor .at - N ; cw. Plymouth, and succeeds Mr Melton.
