OBITUARY
MRS. JAMES MURRAY. At the great age of 85 years, Mir. James Murray, a lady widely knov. e and held in high esteem in Wangan,; passed away yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. D. 3. Kingston, of Awahuri road, Feildlng. The deceased lady was relict of Mr. James Murray, engineer, and came with her husband and young family to Wanganui forty-six years ago. where both lived for the greatest part of their lives and reared a family of seven children. The late Mr. Murray, who was a brother of the well-known Wanganui iron-founder, (Mr. David Murray), died in Wellington fourteen years ago. A fortnight since Mrs. Murray carhe to visit her daughter at Fellding, and was thet in excellent health, but she win taken ill only a few days ago and paused away yesterday morning. She leaves three daughters—-Mrs. D. & Kingston (Feilding), Mrs. G. Brown (Hamilton), and Mrs. Paterson (Wanganui); and four sons—David (Limbrick Street, P. N.), Alexander (Wellington), and William and Robert (Wanganui). The remains will be interred in Karori cemetery tomorrow.
MB. J. B. ANDERSON. Quite a gloom was cast over the township of Halcombe on hearing of the sudden death of Mr. J. D. Anderson, which took place at 6.15 p.m, on Friday. Mr. Anderson had just returned from Feilding and on entering his homo, collapsed. The deceased gentleman has for a period of 12 years' carried on the trade of butcher and his bright and genial presence will bo greatly missed from our midst. Much sympathy is felt for Mrs. Anderson and family, the blow being a particularly severe one for the former, who is still in delicate health. Mr. Anderson is survived fTy his widow and family of six—Mr. H. Anderson, of Palmerston North, Mr. L. Anderson, Wellington, Mr. S. Anderson and Mr, N. Anderson, Miss Mavis Anderson and Mrs. D. Managh, being daughters. Mr. Anderson vu only 52 years of age, and his unexpected death was a shock to all.
