Mr. E. Shop Dixon was a week-end visitor to Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. Harley have returned to Woodville after a most enjoyable holiday spent in Australia. Mr. John Farrell, representing J. C. Williamson Ltd., is in town making arrangements for the Gilbert and Sullivan opera season on September 18th and 20th. Mr. P. C. Cleverley, of the clerical staff of tlio Cross Creek railway staff, loaves shortly on transfer to Levin, and will be replaced by Mr. G. Boosley, transferred from Feathcrston.Mr. B. G, Gower, of Foxton, vicepresident of the Wellington Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union, was the recipient of condolences from that body at its meeting on Saturday, in the loss of his wife. It is understood that Mr. H. J. D. McManaway, who has represented the town districts' of Huntervilie, Bulls, and Managaweka on the Power Board, is offering himself for re-elec-tion at the poll to be held this month If you are coming to Palmerston on Saturday, come early and have a walk through our extensive showrooms before the day’s sport begins. If, however, you cannot do this, come in and sec the display by night. The latest new season styles and shades are to be seen to full advantage.—Collinson and Cunninghamc, Ltd.
