FOXTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mrs. K. Healey paid a brief visit to Foxton at the end of the week, reluming to Wellington on Sunday. Later this month, Mr. and Mrs. Healej leave for Sydney where they will reside for some time. Mr. B. G. Gower left Wellington on Friday for Sydney on route fo Arictoria. He will return with his daughter later in the month. Choral Society. The local Choral Society has gone into recess. A. social evening was hold as a wind-up at which presentations wen; made to Air. H. Osborne (conductor). and Miss M. Delaney (accompanist). Rev Walton in presenting Mr. Osborne with a fountain pen, spoke of the many ways in which ho hud helped in musical matters in Fox' ion. The speaker trusted that hislory would repeat itself, and that. a» of yore the Society would spring into new life. In acknowledging the presentation. Mr. Osborne said there was ampU talent, in Foxton lo run a good Choral Society, and >f members would only attend regularly there would be no difficulty. It was always a .pleasure •or him to help in musical matters. Rev. S. Pcryman spoke in appreciation of Miss Delaney’s services to the Society as accompanist. Mr. L. Buitard replied on Miss Delaney’s behalf. On Friday afternoon. Capt. Buckley. in his aeroplane, provided quite a thrilling time for local residents, while flying over the town. He did many stunts, including looping the loop, nose diving, etc. Sunday was a perfect, cloudless day .and Capt, Buckley took full advantage of it and no doubt secured some good plalcs ot the surrounding districts.
