Bank of England returns are as follow: —Issue department, notes in circulation £140,553,000, notes in reserve £31,946,000, a total of £172,4 99,000,-spovcrnmcnt debt amounts to £11,015,00V other securities to £8,735,000, gold coin in bullion to £152,749,000, a total of £172,499,000. Banking department proprietor’s capital amounts to £14,553,000, the rest to £3,569,000, public deposits to £16,939,000, other deposits to £104,728.000, seven day and other bills at 3 per cent., a total of £139,892,000. Government securities amount to £34,332,000, other securities to £72,2X9,000. Notes in reserve amount to £31,946,000, gold m reserve amounts to £1,395.000, a total of £139,802,000. The proportion in reserve to liabilities is 27.30, short loans are at 41 per cent., three month bills at 41 per cent.
