CARE OF THE ROYAL PARKS

Not everyone realises that the British Royal parks have a gamekeeper, jusft like a country estate. He is Mr, Hinton ,and he is in charge of all the birds in the four Royal parks. Altogether his charges number welt over SPO, and in St. James’ Park atone there is over 30 different varieties of ducks. One of Mr. Hinton’s proudest achievements was the way he saved the park pelicans during the war. Those at the zoo died from lack of sufllcioni fish, but Mr. Hinton used to go round all the London hotels and collect every scrap of waste fish lie could lay hands on. and kept his pelicans in fine condition.
