CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At Addington market there was again a heavy entry of most classes of stock, but on account of the holiday and tho suspension of killing operations at the abattoirs, the demand from butchers was restricted, and there was a tendency towards easier values.

Store sheep.-—Another heavy entry. North Island ewes predominated, They were down from il/• to 2/- a head on last week for forward lambs, but there was very brisk competition at an advance on late rates, ewe lambs being In very keen demand. Rape lambs sold at 22/- to 25/-; medium, 19/6 to 21/6; small, 17/3 to 10/-; inferior, 15/- to 17/-; good halfbred ewe lambs, to 28/9; ordinary half-bred ewe lambs, 24/- to 25/6; crossbred' ewe-lambs, 23/6 to 25/»; two-toothed three-quarterbred ewes, 24/- to 27/.; ordinary, 4, 6 and 8-tooth crossbred ewes, 25/- to 29/-: low-conditioned 4, 6 and 8-toothed crossbred fcwes, 21/- to 24/-; four and five year old crossbred ewes, 20/r to 22/-; four and five year old crossbred ewes (local), 24/- to 29/-; four and five year old-halfbred ewes,. 25/to 30/-; failing-mouthed halfbred ewes, 19/6 to 23/9; good forward 4. 6 and 8-tooth halfbred wethers, 27/to 28/10; four, six and eight-toothed wethers, 23/6 to 25/9; two-tooth halfbred wethers, 21/- to 25/-.; twotooth crossbred wethers, 22/6 to 24/-. Pat lambs. —A small entry bf 2500 head, and a sale at the maximum of export values.. Prime medium weight lambs making a shade over lOd a pound; extra prime made 32/6 fto 34/4; prime heavy, 29/6 to 32/-; medium, \ 28/- to 30/-; light . and inferior, 25/6 to 27/6. Store lambs made 22/- to 24/-. Fat sheep.—The market “‘opened very firmly at an advance on last week, but once the butchers’ requirements were met, competition eased. Exporters bought freely, however, over the later stages of the sale, when values were back by 1/6 a head. Extra prime wethers fetched to 39/-; prime, 32/- to 36/-; medium, 28/6 to 31/6; light, 25/6 to 28/-; medium 21/- to 24/-; light, 17/6,’to extra prime ewes to 30/4; prime 24/6 to 28/-; medium 21/- to 24/-; light, 17/6 to 20/-; aged, 13/- to 17/-. Pat cattle.—A smaller entry of 435. Generally .there was an easing of up to-20A a head for: all classes except prime medium-weights. A North Island line of 55 averaged £l2 17/6.
