DEATH ON THE ROAD

[Per Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, Last Night, At the conclusion of the inquest on the death of - Frederick Witty, who was killed on the North road on March Bth, the Coroner returned a verdict that deceased mot his death through being run over by a car driven by John Guy Denninson. Dennison Is the engineer engaged by the Southland County Council to supervise the work of bltumenising the North road. The evidence showed that deceased, who was riding a bicycle, had been struck from behind and thrown against the windscreen. Denniston was arrested on a Charge of manslaughter. Bail was allowed on one surety of £2OO, and ha was remanded to appear on April 7.
