[From Our Own Correspondent.] Fire Hoard Meeting. The quarterly meeting of the Fox'.on Fire Board was held in the Board's office on March 2G, IU2G, and was presided over by Mr. F. G. Gray (chairman). Also present were:— Messrs. H. Filtner, A. H. Clarke, M. E. Perreau, F. Woods, INI. H. Walker and the secretary. The Foxton Borough Council advised that the cost of a water pressure gauge was about £3 10s. It was resolved to instal a water pressure gauge at the fire station, under the supervision of the local committee. Mr. Murray Walls' election to the brigade was approved. It was resolved to sanction the arrangements entered into by the local committee with the Borough Council re the apportioning of telephone rents. From Mrs. C. K. Woodroofe, enclosing remittance and donation of £1 Is for services given by the brigade. It was resolved to ask the committee to attend to the following requisitions among others, arising out of the superintendent’s report:— Alarm-bell for Deputy-Superintend-ent’s residence. Purchase of boots. Purchase of a battery for the fire engine. It was resolved to defer the question of purchasing a light dress uniform until the next financial year. It was resolved to ask the local committee to confer with the local Postmaster regarding the use of Mr. Booth’s telephone as an auxiliary fire alarm during the day. The meeting also resolved to furnish the Borough Council with the Information necessary to bring about a conviction in reference to a rubbish fire raised in Johnston street.
