PRINCE OF WALES

OPERATION TO EAR. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Monday, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 29, A bulletin has been issued from Saint James's Palace, which says that the Prince of Wales had a return of the pain in his ear, as a sequel to influenza. A small operation was performed, which gave relief. OPERATION AFFORDS RELIEF. VISIT TO BIARRITZ THIS WEEK. (Received Monday, 8.10 p.m.) LONDON, March 29. In connection with the Prince of Wales’ illness, the first public intimation of the trouble was made on Friday, when the Prince sent General Trotter, his equerry, to Euston station to explain to Prince Henry, Princess Arthur of Connaught, and other members of a racing party, the Prince’s disappointment that ho was unable to accompany them to Aintroo. The Prince was not in bed and expected to be out on Saturday. Public anxiety was stopped by a reassuring announcement, but the ear trouble continued over the week-end, and four doctors were called in. They decided it was necessary to incise the drum, which was done, and the Prince duly found relief. The "Daily Chronicle” states that the Prince will arrive at Biarritz on Thursday and will slay at the Hcliantho hotel, where ho has formerly resided.
