A COSTLY SOAR
The Antwerp Court has decided that the ajsthctic value of a beautiful woman is roughly £IOOO. A girl of 17 was last year run over by a motorcar and a scar remained on the chest. Her family were awarded £IOO damages in an action brought against the motorist, but being dissatisfied obtained an order from the Court that the girl should he examined by a beauty expert. Dr Bremkcn, after an examination, reported that the girl had lost 20 per cent of her msthetic value. The case was then reheard and the jury awarder the family £BOO damages plus 20 cent, for the loss of cesthetic value being £960 in all.
