(Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, J-asi, Night. The New Zealand racing conference dismissed the appeal by A. J. Peart (jockey), against the decision of the Reefton Jockey Club In disqualifying him for six months, and against the decision of the Greymouth district committe in increasing such disqualification to twelve months from January 8, on the grounds that the horse Cashman, ridden by Peart, was not run on its merits, in the second hurdle race'at the Reefton Jockey Club’s race meeting on January 8, 1926. Mo better riding was seen at Dannevirke than that of T. Green, and the fact that owners and trainers have rapidly realised his worth is amply- evident by the class of mpunJt he is getting. The boy rides with his head as well as with hands and heels and with the added confidence that comes with experience, he should soon he in the , attenuated ranks of the really good horsemen in this country. Seven continues to be Jim Kelly’s main. Ho had his charges Sanctuarv and Capitulation as fit as hands could mike them at Danuevirke, and although they raced well .they were Just beaten out of the money. Persistency and optimism should soon have their reward. C. France sustained cuts and clouts when his mount Charleston fell with a seizure in the High-weight Handicap on Thursday, but nothing serious enough to need medical attention. .

Creswick. but If their yearling sister had gone' into the sale ring, she would have realised a high figure. Pilllewinkle put up a great performance in the Australian Cu.,. on Tuesday in carrying 9st 61b to victory in the Australasian record time of ?min. 513 sec. The previous record was held by Gasbag who established it in the Canterbury Cup at Riccarlon, on which occasion Ronnie Winkle, another son of Winkle, ran him to a head. Though Pllliewitikle failed to win the Melbourne Cup, for which he' was specially purchased by Sir Samuel Hordern, he has made a handsome return for the 2500 guineas which the New South Wales sportsman is sdld to have given for him, for, counting his wins in thf Essendon Stakes on Saturday, end the Australian Cup on Tuesday, he has now won over 8000 sovs in stake money since passing into Sir Samuel Hordern’s possession. Pilllewinkle must take rank as one of th e best stayers bred In the Dominion. His excellence is, no doublt, partly accounted for by the fact that his pedigree is e* well balanced one. He has plenty of staying blood on one side of his pedigree and a lot of good sprinting blood on the other side. Pluthalr, who scored her first win at Dannevirke, Is a sister to Clarlnda, and half slater to Novar and Clandhu. Mr. McKenzie’s All Black mare. Black Ada, the dam of this trio of good gallopers, is proving decidedly successful as a matron. According to Mr. McKenzie the name Piuthair was given, as is Gaelic for “sister.” (Continued on Page 13.)
