BUSINESS GIRLS’ LUNCH CLUB
INAUGURAL MEETING YESTERDAY. The roll of the newly-formed Business Girls’ Lunch Club opened with a roll of 34 and over 20 attended the inaugural luncheon at Messrs. Collin - son and Cunninghame’s rooms yesterday. Mrs. M. H. Oram, the president, outlined the objects of the Club, her remarks being supplemented by Mrs. P. W. Christian, the secretary i who urged those present to see that there was ncft a lonely member. . Lady Parr had made tentative arrangements to spoak, but was unable to get back from Flock House In time Miss M. Buchanan contributed a pianoforte solo v and the president was presented with a bouquet, on behalf of the members by Miss M. Cadle. A)t the next fortnightly luncheon, members will be addressed by Miss Nellie Scanlan. a lady journalist, of Wellington, an(J well-known to Palmerston North, and Lady Alice Pergusson will speak at the Easter week gathering.
