RONGOTEA
[From Our Own Correspondent,] Tenr..’s Meeting. A meeting of the Rongotea Tennis and Croquet Club was hold on Monday evening to arrange for the annual singles handicap tournament. Mr. H. E. Howell was in the chair. It was decided to close entries for the tournament on March S, and Miss Liggins, Messrs. Amadio, Howell and A. Hunt were appointed handicappers. A keen competition is anticipated for both rose bowl (present holder Miss Liggins) and the Morcom Cup (at present held by \V. Boddy). It was also decided to hold a dance on March 24, in aid of the Club’s fund, and a committee was set up to make arrangements. I‘lunkct Society. The monthly meeting of the Rongotea branch of the Plunket Society was held on Tuesday, Airs. C. AY. Lig■gins presiding. The secretary was instructed to forward a letter to Mrs. Bower and 'family, sympathising with them in Mr. Bower’s serious illness. As the end of the financial year is drawing - near the committee agreed to carry on canvassing during the'fiext few weeks. It was thought advisable to hold an afternon function to raise funds and an application is to be forwarded to the Tennis and Croquet Club for the use of the club’s grounds for one afternoon this month for that purpose.
