UNHAPPY N.S.W.

SEAMEN HAVING ANOTHER “SAIL.” [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] SYDNEY, February 23. Further trouble is threatening between the Seamen’s Union and the coastal shipping companies, over seamen’s claims for 'wharf labourers’ rates, at ports along the coast where they handle cargo. Although the seamen signed the agreement in July last, after the coastal and inter-State strike, that they would handle cargo, they are again demanding wharf labourers’ rates. 1 The companies arc determined not to grant the demand and state they will tie-up vessels on which trouble occurs. Already the North Coast company’s Pulganbar, one of the biggest passenger coasters, has been tied up, and the company is refusing to give way to the men.
