LIGHT FOR APITI
REQUEST FOR STREET LAMPS. POHANGINA COUNCIL CAUTIOUS. A letter was received at the Pohangina County Council meeting- on Saturday from Mr. W. McKay, chairman ot’ a public meeting held in Aplti recently, stating that a resolution was passed requesting that the Council have erected in the Apiti township tour electric lights when the Power Board was working in the district. Cr. Pratt stated he thought the Council should take some action in the matter. The chairman pointed out that if the Council did tho work in Apiti it would have to do it everywhere. There was no immediate huriy and Inquiries could b tt made. Lights in Apiti would
certainly be necessary when the time i case for the “juice" to be installed. It was decided to leave the question in abeyance in the meantime.
