GLORIES OF FASCISM

„The political status In Italy and the situation of the Fascist party and organisation have never been so clearly stated as In letters just exchanged between the Secretary-General of the Fascist Party, the Deputy Farlnaccl, and Signor Mussolini on the occasion of the anniversary of the murder of a Fascist deputy who, it may be remembered, was shot in a tram In Rome by an Irresponsible Individual suposed to have been Instigated to murder by the propaganda of the antl-Fasclsts. Since Signor Sasallnl was murdered In the streets of Rome 54 other Fascists have been killed indifferent parts of Italy. Signor Pari, naccl numbers them In his letter to Signor Mussolini and gives the name and surname, but without dwelling on the incidents and details. The sacrifice of fifty-four lives in the Fascist cause In the space of one year, looks Impressive but on the other hand. It Is not clear that Fascists alone have been the victims. The number of the others is not stated by the Fascist secretary, but It Is likely they might also form an imposing list. One thing Is evident—that political strife etlll exists, with numerous victims. Slfflfcor Mussolini, In his reply to SlgnOr Farlnaccl, writes: “Your letter Is the best oommem. oration of our valiant and never-to-be-forgotten comrade Casalinl, Many others have fallen after him. The long list of tjielr names Is an admonition. To belong- to militant Fascism is still a privilege, because It Im. piles sacrifice and often death. This fact, consecrated by the blood of our martyrs, places our party In a state of absolute moral superority over all others, and imposes on us a strategy Qf decisive and uncompromising resolutlon.The forces of Fascism are truly Imposing. We must now perfect them, keep th.em In training, and always fit and ready. This task you are accomplshlng with dally efforts and fresh and Indomitable enthusiasm. Our dead compel us to serve Fascism with humility, disinterestedness and con. cord. Our goal will thus be the sooner reached at any cost. The Fascist revolution is going through a period of revival. The foundations of the Fascist State were laid in fact before they were In theory. All Italy Is renovating itself from its depth. The nation .misled and deceived, which first was our enemy and which looked on at our Insurrection with terrified eyes and indifference, Is to-day turning towards us in ever-growing masses, because It feels by its obscure but Infallible instinct that in Fascism there Is life with all its possibilities, whereas on the other side there is all that is obsolete and past, with Its de. structipn and death. We shall master the remnants of the counter-revolu-tion when and where we please, for they are lat our mercy. Good times have come, and will continue coming, live Fascism!”
