A SHRAPNEL SPLINTER

A piece of shrapnel, two inches long, received in the Battle of Ypres, but of the presence of which he was unaware until he met with an accident, -was removed from the shoulder of a man named Horwood, of Hammersmith W.. at the West London Hospital. Horwood was admitted suffering from a large Itilnp on the shoulder, which he said was the result of someone having thrown a chair at him at a public meeting. Examination of the trouble revealed the large piece of shrapnel at the bottom of a deep abcess. The patient has many scars on his back, the result of wounds by other splinters of shell.
