SWIMMING
MANAWATU CENTRE MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Manawatu Swimming Centr e was held laat evening. When the president, Mr. J. Fahey, occupied the chair. Other members present were:—Messrs. J. Define (Palmerston North), D. A. Partridge (Terrace End) and E. Per*, eon (hon. sec.). A letter accepting th e position od educational officer for the district wa* received from Mr. H. G. Gabltes, The New Zealand Association wrot*. giving particulars of railway concessions in respect to the arrangement* for the New Zealand championships at Napier, commencing on January 28. —Received. With regard to the championships, the Hawke's Bay Centre wrote, giving particulars of accommodation and th« programme and asking -whether there would be any swimmers or officials from Manawatu.—lt -was decided that Messrs. J. Fphey and H. Parsonage represent th e Manawatu Centre at the conference of centres, to be held ia Napidr Oh January 26. With respeqt to the swimming representatives, it wa,s decided to leave the question of ascertaining what representatives the Felldtog Club had to the chairman to report at a meeting on Monday, evening. The trial for the 220ydS. "breast* stroke will be held on the same evening.
