MANAWATU v. BRITAIN. CENTRE TEAM CHOSEN FOR TO-DAY. The Manawatu Bowling Centre met vesterday afternoon to choose the rinks for to-day’s match against the British bowlers at the Palmerston North Bowling Club’s green at Taonui street: E. C. The. British team arrives from Wanganui about noon, travelling by road. Members will be quartered at. th 0 Grand and Club hotels. At two o’clock the Manawatu bowlers will meet the Britishers at their headquarters and -take them for a flying visit to the various bowling greens. It is expected that the Palmerston North green will 1.-e reached in time to start the match about half-past two o’clock. After this brief trip the lady members of the party will be taken to Pending. wher<s they will be entertained at the bowling club by the president, Mr. Geo.. Bartholomew, and members of his Club.

A smoko concert will be held in the Empire? Hall, Palmerston North, at eight o’clock. All local bowlers are Invited to attend.

The following is a list of those supplying cars which are to be marshalled at the Grand Hotel in the first Instance: —Messrs. J. Davidson, PMorr's, N. H. Nash, F. Needham. J. G. Radford, R. Stafford, W. Sheriff, G sT. Stephenson,. G. H. Trott. The Manawatu Bowling Centre will be grateful to any other owners able to p’ace cars at its disposal for the afternoon. The British bowlers met eight rinks from the City clubs to-day and suffered defeat by 153 to 129. They leave tomorrow morning for Palmerston North.
