WARNING TO MOTORISTS. COMPENSATION BOGEY MAY GBf YOU. [Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Victor Slater, a motorist, who appeared at the Magistrate’s Court this morning was ordered, as part of his sentence ion a charge of negligent driving, to pay £SO compensation to Dorothy Osborne, the young woman who was injured in an accident caused by Slater’s negligence. He was also fined £2 for driving- a car without a license. This is the first tim e that the penalty lias been enforced in Christchurch. The new penalty is provided for in the Motor Vehicles Act and the Magistrate said he would impose it in all similar case*; He .advised motorists to get insured.
