VALEDICTORY

TO MK. AND J£RS E. A. ALLAN. A farewell social and danco was tendered Mrs and Mr Allan who are leaving- Feilding, by the Dramatic Society, on Thursday night. The Club loom was beautifully decoraihd with roses and sweet peas. Musical items were given by the following:—Selections by the Orchestra (Mrs Benson, Messrs Billman, Farmer and Kirk); song, Mr Cliftchoruses, Mr Wallace; song, Mr Shakes; song and chorus Miss N. Eliott; sketch, Mr Kingston; recitation, Sirs Allan: humorous songs by Messrs Allan, Clift, Kingston and Shakes. Dancing followed the musical programme, the music being supplied by Mrs Gordon Ehott and Mr Wallace Mr Gordon Eliott M.P., then made presentations to the guests and referred in laudatory terms to Mr and Mrs Allan, who had proved themselves good citizens in their untiring efforts for the welfare of the town and assistance in benevolent causes. The successes of the dramatic society were largely duo to the talent of Mrs Allan. who was the life of every performance. Mrs Allan was presented with a handsome china sweet bowl, accompanied with two bouquets and an autograph album signed by all the members of "His Niece Coy.’’ and the orchestra. Mr Allan received a Smokers’ stand. Mr Allan suitably responded. A most enjoyable supper followed at which the following toasts were honoured:—“The King”, proposed by Mr Eliott, “Our Guests” proposed by Mr Eliott and replied to by Mr Allan. “The Mayor and Mayoress" proposed by Mr Cullinane replied to by Mr Carthew. “The President” proposed by Mr A. Kingston, replied to by Mr Eliott. “The Ladies”, proposed by Mr Shakes replied to by Miss N Eliott. "The Gentlemen” proposed by Miss E. Hedwood, replied to by Air Clift. “The Orchestra" proposed by Air G. Kingston, Air Billman responding. 'i'nose present wore: Alesdames Carthew, Allan, Gordon Eliott, Kings ton, Revingtou Jones. Webster, Brown Benson, Clift, Misses Gordon Eliotl (2), N. Eliott, E. Redwood, AI. Webster, Messrs W. E.
