SHIPMENTS OF MEAT FROM SOUTH AMERICA
The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received a cable from its representative at Buenos Aires, South America, advising the following shipments to the United Kingdom for the fortnight ended 26th. November, j 1925 from Argentine and Uruguay;— . 257,875 quarters chilled beef, .6,000 quarters frozen beef, 34,572 carcases frozen mutton, 119,050 carcases frozen lamb. The quantity shipped to the Continent of Europe during the same period totalled; — I,SSO quarters chilled beef, 142,800 quarters frozen beef, 7,937 carcases frozen mutton, 3,950 carcases frozen lamb. Frozen Meat Shipped from New Zealand. 1925:—1/15th. November, 21,933 quarters beef, 150,383 carcases mutton, 87,447 carcases lamb for London; 16,258 quarters beef, 8,230 carcases mutton, 1,000 carcases lamb, for West Coast Uunited Kingdom. Total for same period last year, viz., l/15th. Nov. 1924: —7,445 quartors beef, 72,968 carcases of mutton, 19,398 carcases lamb for London; 27248 quarters beef, 500 carcases mutton, 4,954 carcases of lamb for West Coast United Kingdom. Killings for 1925 Season. Killings at all works during 1925-26 season commencing Ist. November 1925 to 15til. November (the figures for the corresponding period of the 1924-25 season are shown in parenthesis):— Beef quarters 134 (7,823); wether mutton (carcases) 6,887 (30,282); ewe mutton (carcases) 1,024 (8,249); lamb (carcases 4,734 (5.537); pork (carcases) 488 (469); boneless beef (frt. carcases) 201 (4,300); sundries (frt carcases) nil (854). (The whole, of the above stock was killed in the North Island).Stocks on hand in stores hr New Zealand 15/11/25 (the stocks on hand 15/11/24 are shown in'parenthesis): — Beef (quarters) 102,427 (32,687); wether mutton (carcases) 71,368 (33,885); ewe mutton (carcases) 46,122 (22,240); lamb (carcases) 27,267 (5,437); pork (carcases) 493 (884); boneless beeT (frt. carcases) 33,451 (15,283); sundries (frt. carcases) 5.804 (10,571).
