ußur .ui.i-tlikj. , tPer Press Association.] DUNEDIN, December 2. The result of the art needlework competition at the women’s court in the Exhibition was made known this morning. Mrs R. Carlisle M'Fariane (Napier) took first prize for tho best specimens of coloured embroideries in silk; Miss Agnes M'Pherson (Dannevirke) first prize for the b<fst specimen of Richelieu embroidery; and Mrs P. W. Anderson first prize for the best specimen of Montmellick white embroidery -work. A special award was given to Miss E. C. Monro (Palmerston North) for an embroidered picture in human hair, which depicts a little girl and a dog in a pretty landscape setting, with a country cottage in the middle distance. This picture is -wonderfully dainty, looking like one of the finest etchings. Miss Monro also exhibits two beautiful needlework pictures in coloured silks a lovely old-fashioned flower garden and a little girl with a basket o£ flowers.
