GAOL MUTINY IN INDIA
[By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust, and N 7. Cable Association.] CALCUTTA, December 2. A serious mutiny in the gaol at Pyapon was led by a prisoner who had been sentenced to death for murder. The prisoners overpowered the guards, seized arms, and engaged the gaol authorities in a pitched battle, only surrendering when their leader had been killed, and after the DeputyCommissioner and the military police had surrounded the gaol. . The casualties were five prisoners and four warders killed, and 20 prisoners and four warders wounded
