GENERAL NOTICES. ► — ; THE WELLINGTON WEST COUNTIES JOINT BY-LAW, ,1925. in pursuance and exerelse of the powers conferred by “The Counties Act, 1920,” “The Public Works Act, 1908,” “The Healtn Act, 1920,” “The Motor Vehicles Act, 1924,” and by every amendment of the said Acts and of every other power and provision contained in any statute or ordinance it in that behalf enabling- the Council of the County of Oroua by special order on the 2 3rd. day of October, 1925, MADE AND ORDAINED the By-Law Intituled “Tho Wellington West Counties Joint By-Lav, 1925,” the object and purport whereof is hereinafter set out. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the said By-Law shall come into operation and effect in the said County of Oroua on the first day of January, 1926. Part 1: Introductory and penalties: Defining words and phrases used in by-laws, the application of by-laws and prescribing penalties for, breaches of the by-laws. Part 2: Offences on roads and public places. Defining certain offences on roads and public places within the County. Part S: Regulating Traffic: Generally. Prescribing the lights to bo carried on vehicles, the rates at which vehicles may proceed in cer. tain places, the loads to be carried on vehicles and the rules of the road to be observed by vehicles and defining certain offences. Part 4: Regulating width of Tyres: Prescribing the maximum load to be carried by vehicles in relation (o the sizes of tyres on the wheels thereof. Part 5: Vehicles plying for hire: Prohibiting tho plying of vehicles for hire unless licenses and proscribing rules in connection with such licenses and the license fees to bo paid in respect thereof. Part G: Motors; Defining offences in connection with the driving of motors in tho .County and prescribing the spec® at which motors may be driven in certain parts of the County providing for the direction of warning notices on dangerous places and prescribing tho speed at which motors may travel in such dangerous places. Prescribing the lights to bo carried by motor vehicles. Part 7: Pedlars and Hawkers: Prohibiting the carrying on of business of pedlar or hawker without a license and providing for the granting of such licenses and for tho fees to bo payable in respect thereof. Part 8; Public Billiard Rooms: Providing for the licensing of public billiard rooms and prescribing rules for the granting of such licenses and the fees to bo paid in respect thereof. Part 9: Public Health: Defining terms used in this part of tho by-law and prescribing penalties for breaches thereof. Pro-] hibiting the erection of buildings without the precedent consent of tho County and prescribing the 1 minimum area frontage and minimum air space in respect of dwelling houses and the rules tor obtaining tho consent of tho County to such buildings. Proscribing tho conditions and requirements to be complied with in respect of build, ings intended to be used as d .veiling houses and prescribing generally tho materials dimensions and method of construction of buildings within the County. Prescribing the conditions as to the structure and e'eansing of privies. Prohibiting tho undertaking of plumbing drainage or sanitary work without the consent of the County and prescribing tho conditions upon which permits to carry out drainage worn may be issued. Prescribing the requirements to be obtained in connection With' sanitary plumbing work. Defining common lodging] houses and requiring samo to be registered and prescribing conditions upon which registration thereof shall be continued. Defining offensive trades and prescribing nature of buildings in which such trades may be carried on and prc. scribing tho rules to be observed in the carrying on of such trades. Prohibiting tho erection of stables and cowsheds adjacent to dwelling houses shops and factories and Prescribing tho rules to bo observed in connection with the carrying on of stables, cowsheds and pigsties. Providing for the registration of cattle sale-yards. Prescribing rules for the sale of food and for the protection of food from contamination. Providing for the licensing of picture theatres, halls and concert rooms and rules for the granting of such licenses and fees to be paid in respect thereof. Providing general rules for the preservation of public health and for tho collection of household rubbish and manure. Part 12: Providing for tho keeping of a register of licenses: for the use of specified forms and for tho repeal of former by-lava. Dated this second day of December, 1925 K. L.
