COURT MANAWATU
The fortnightly meeting of Court Manawatu, iA.O.P., No. 5655, was held in the Foresters’ Hall, Main street, on Monday night. The C.R., Bro. Rickard presided over a large attendance of members, including a number of visiting- brethren from other Courts. The sisters from Court Hinemoa were also present in large numbers. The D.C.R. Bro. Carr, from Wellington, paid a fraternal visit to Court Manawatu, and on arrival was greeted with applause. The presiding C. handed over his office to tho D. Bro. Carr, who conducted tho meeting for the rest of the evening, and gave an eloquent address on Forestry from its infancy, also dwel. ling briefly on matters appertaining to the welfare of the Court In general At the conclusion of the D.C.R.’s address, a hearty vote of thanks was passed, which was carried by acclamation. One candidate was Initiated into the Court and Order, and one proposed for membership. At tjio conclusion of the meeting the brothers and sisters adjourned to the supper room, where a nice supper was In waiting, and full justice was dqne by all present.
