Benos arrived and walked arm in arm with Bir Austen to their motor-cars. ■M. Briand, in a statement said: “This is a most important step in the life of the nations. There must be a new starting point for Franco-German collaboration. I will also take up with Mr. Churchill the question of the settlement of France's war debt, to which Cabinet i s determined to find a solution.” The “Daily Mail" states that extraordinary precautions were taker to guard the German delegates arriving at Victoria station to sign the Locarno pa«t. Their carriage was slipped outside the station and shunted to a special platform, where Sir Austen Chamberlain and others welcomed the Germans. Slgnatui es to the Locarno treaties will be made by the plenipotentiaries sitting around a rectangular table in the Foreign Office reception room which before the war was used fot diplomatic receptions. Messrs. Baldwin and Chamberlain will sign for Britain. Behind plenipotentiaries around th e table will bo diplomats representing the signatory powers and British Ambassadors and ambassadors from Paris, Berlin and Brussels, members of Cabinet and the Dominions' High Commissioners. The treaties drawn up at Locarno were typewritten and the Anal drafts signed by the plenipotentiaries wero bound in an imposing cover, which was sewn together with ribbon of Locarno’s heraldic colours, blue ami red, then sealed up with Locarno's city seals. The treaties have since been printed and carefully checked by every Foreign Office concerned and later printed on special treaty paper. SIGNED AND SEALED. (All Rights Reserved.)
