HERO OF LOCARNO PACT

Newspapers applaud the honour awarded Sir Austen Chamberlain. It had been surmised that, like his father, he would be averse from a title and most predicted he would accept the Order of Merit, but the conferring of the Garter is acclaimed as a fitting recognition of his high-minded course at the Locarno Conference, while bLat given his wife. Dame Ivy, Is a happy remembrance of her birthday outing with the delegates on the motor yacht on which the Locarno Pact was reallyachieved.
