Captain Garro-Jones, asked in the House of Commons if any dominion governments had sent any communication's concerning the Locarno agreement. Mr. M. S. Amory replied that communications were now passing and it would be premature to make a statement. Mr. Baldwin, in reply to Sir W. E. Hume-Williams, said in view of the Imperial economic committee’s report on branding Empire products, the Ministry was not proceeding with the Merchandise Marks Bill, but would Introduce a more comprehensive Bill next session. Commander Ksnworthy questioned the fairness of the Board of Trade in taking sides in the wireless operators’ strike by suspending the obligation of overseas ships to carry throe wireless operators. Mr. A. M. ■ Samuel retorted that he would not be Justified in enforcing regulations at the risk of involving the poorer classes In dearer food through the holding up of supplies. Meanwhile, the Board Was endeavouring to arrange a settlement. Mr. Amory promised the Empire migration committee that he jvould consider the Trade Union Congress idea.of old age pensions being payable to those who migrated to join their families in overseas dominions. Major Hennessy told Mr. Hudson he saw no reason either in the in terests of economy or temperance, lor the discontinuing of port wine advertisements in the department’s books of stamps. Commander Kenworthy asked: “What about ‘buy British goods ?’ Why not advertisements of Australian and African wines ?”
