WIFE’S LOVE “WORTH” A MILLION
BEAUTY DOCTOR SUES JUAN OP 59. "The love of my wife Is worth a million to me,” says Dr. J. Fc-rnol, a bloodless surgeon and beauty doctor of Chicago, who has brought a suit against David G. Maxwell, a Middle West millionaire, for the alienation of his wife’s affections. Ho is, however, claiming half that sum, which in English money is equivalent to about £IOO,OOO. Mrs. Fernel has already obtained a divorce in Michagan, which Dr. Pernol suggests was financed by Mr. Maxwell. The lady is described as being very beautiful and fascinating, and of the adorable age of 30. Mr. Maxwell is. 59. Dr. Fernel founds his claim for damages on the correspondence which passed between his wife and Maxwell. Presumably he intercepted these letters, and they are likely to form a decisive feature in the case. “Betty, Darling,” “To the Sweetest in the World,” and (“Hallo, Lover, Darling," were some of the salutations used by Maxwell in his letters to Mrs. Fernel.. Other gems of affection are; “Adorable Baby,’’ “Lover, Lover, My Own," “Honey, I am just crazy about you, that is all, and how can I help it?’ These terms seem to have been wasted, for the letters were intercepted by the husband.
