PALMERSTON NORTH LOSES TO PAHIATUA. * The first match for the Manson and Barr Cup was played at the greens of the holders, the Palmerston North Bowling Club, on Saturday, when a close game resulted in a win for the visitors. Palmerston scored-two,- and the visitors two and one, the score on the 20th head being 23—22 In the favour of Pahiatua. Th e latter scored another three on the last head, and won 26—22.
