SUCCESSES AT STRATFORD SHOW
At the Stratford A. and P. Show last week. Mr. W. Devine, of Awapunl was successful in securing second prize in the class for pedigree Jersey bulls over 3 years and v.h.c. In the class for 2-year-old Jersey heifers. Mr. H. R. Green (Kalranga) secur. ed the championship for Friesian cow; first and third prizes for cow calved prior to July, 1920; first and second for cow calved since July 1920; third for heifer since July 1922; first and third for heifer since July 1923; first, second, and third for heifer since July 1925; first for two heifers in milk; first and second for two heifers since July 1924; first and second for two cows In milk calved prior to July 1923; first, second and fourth In the class for cows with semi-official records, judged on type and performance. The bull championship and reserve were also secured by Mr. Green as well as first and second place in the aged bull class and first in each of the other bull classes. First and second prizes were also secured for bull (any age) and 8 females.
The Weraroa Central Development Farm was also a successful exhibitor in the Friesian section. Mb. H. R. Green was the largest and most successful exhibitor. In 1923 and 1924 he won the points a handsome cup valued at lOOgns. presented by Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co., and took along this year a particularly strong team in the hope of winning the cup for the third year in succession, as it would then become his property. This he succeeded in do., ing, a great accomplishment, especially when one considers the distance his stock had to travel. They were, however, all penned In excellent condition ,a noticeable feature throughout the black and white section, and the win was thoroughly desrvd. Mr. C, G. C. Dormer (Cheltenham) judged in the Jersey and Mr. J. Grant (Woodvillo) in the Milking Shorthorn and pig sections.
