CHELTENHAM DAIRY COMPANY
DECREASE IN PRODUCTION. EFFECTS OF WEATHER. Butter-fat suppliers In this district got 1/6 per lb for their October output—the same price as last month, but 2d better than for the corresponding month lost year, when the Chel-a tenham Company paid out 1/4. The output of butter for October at our factory tvfis 1731 tons, which Is a long way below the output for tho same month last year, when it was well over 200 tons. It is unnecessary to say that this decrease is duo entirely to the unfavourable climatic conditions experienced In Septembea and early October. Although the production of butter-fat is less, it is gratifying to hear, from the monthly circular issued by the company, that the quality is of a high standard, the grading average for last month being 93.58 points, Tho directors Impress upon suppliers thg necessity of raaxiit&lrdng this quality.
